I haven't played a ton of Skyrim SE yet, but will have some thoughts on the game soon. Live Another Life provides an alternative means to start the game for those who do not wish to go through the lengthy intro sequence at Helgen. It seems as though you've been forgotten, soon to rot away and die. At least you have that leak in the wall for water. The dungeon is cold, damp, and worse still, you're running out of food. It's been so long since seeing daylight you no longer know what month it is anymore. Your trial was supposed to be weeks ago, only nobody has come for you. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, you've been arrested and thrown in the dungeons. Misery and despair have haunted you all your life. Here's the official description from modder Arthmoor: Why? Who designed this madness? You have to press the "Down" arrow to get to the Password menu, which is just crazy!) When you enter your login name, if you hit "Tab" rather than going to the Password line, you exit the menu.
(It also has the most annoying sign-in menu I've ever seen.
This replaces Steam Workshop, and requires a account. The mod is available on Nexus mods or through the in-game mod installer that uses. (It's not entirely new, of course, but you'll end up jumping into the game at a very different point, which is cool.)
You can skip that long boring intro, get started with character creation right away and be on your merry way, seeing Skyrim from a new vantage. It's called "Alternate Start - Live Another Life" and it let's you start the game in a totally different scenario and setting. Well, if you're about to jump back into Skyrim now that the Special Edition remaster is out, here's the mod you need.
